Marketing

1 a: the act or process of selling or purchasing in a market b: the process or technique of promoting, selling, and distributing a product or service

We’re asked frequently what the difference is between public relations and marketing. While public relations maintains mutually beneficial relationships, marketing results in an exchange where something of value is delivered.

To the lay communicator, marketing may encompass public relations and perhaps even advertising. We believe the term marketing communications, or marcom, more aptly applies.

Codella Marketing supports clients in marketing initiatives through the use of public relations and advertising to help achieve desired goals.

“Marketing is the management function that identifies human needs and wants, offers products and services to satisfy those demands, and causes transactions that deliver products and services in exchange for something of value to the provider.”
